Garden Photographer of the Year 2010
The fourth International Garden Photographer of the Year competition opened for entries on 6th February 2010. This year the competition has a brand new format – ‘4 Seasons’ – four seasonal competitions, based on specific themes, which allows photographers to win cash prizes throughout the year.
“We want people to rush out with their cameras when the weather is right and have fun working with our seasonal themes.” Says organizer Philip Smith

Everyone who enters goes automatically through to the main International Garden Photographer of the Year competition with a closing date of 30th November 2010.
Prize Details: TOP PRIZES include £5000 for single image, ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY GOLD MEDAL PLUS £2000 CASH for portfolio. Cash prizes for each Category. Publicity and Exhibitions. Everybody who has entered the fourth annual IGPOTY competition will be eligible for a FREE ENTRY (value £13 for adults) to Kew Gardens, London, UK, on a specified date in May or June 2011 (exact date to be announced). On this day IGPOTY judges will be on hand at the exhibition site to answer your questions and to give you feedback on your entries – you will need to bring prints or your photos on your camera. Please note this offer will only be valid on the date we specify.In addition, the IGPOTY team will provide personal feedback on entries by email to anyone on request, after the winners have been announced publicly. Copyright: If your image is short-listed you will be contacted and invited to grant permission for your image to be used to promote the Competition and exhibition only. For avoidance of doubt, no free usage of any photograph is permitted by International Garden Photographer of the Year, or any of its partners or sponsors outside the scope of the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition and exhibition. There is no plan envisaged by International Garden Photographer of the Year, or any of its partners or sponsors, to create a general commercial archive of photographs entered into this competition. Failure to agree to this licence will not disqualify any photograph from the competition. This invitation will state as follows: You grant International Garden Photographer of the Year and its supporting partners a non- exclusive, irrevocable, royalty free licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the photographs for any purpose connected with the Competition. This may include, but is not limited to:(a) inclusion on the Site and on the websites of sponsors and supporters; (b) inclusion in associated books; (c) display at any associated exhibitions; (d) use in press releases to be distributed to national, regional & specialist press giving information about or promoting the Competition. You also agree that the organisers can sub-license images to the media for reproduction in connection with the Competition and Exhibition only. International Garden Photographer of the Year will make every effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium. Images used on any merchandise commissioned by the organisers will be subject to separate agreements which will be discussed individually with photographers.
