CURRENT PHOTO CONTEST

Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year is inspired by the proliferation of wonderful food photography in a huge variety of applications. From eye-catching advertising hoardings, to sumptuous editorial features, from tempting food packaging to daily blogs. The Awards celebrate this magnificent diversity in what is truly, the stuff of life.

The Awards seek to single out not only technical skill, but originality of treatment and a real sense of connection with the subject matter whatever it may be. Whether simply an apple on a plate, a cake of spun sugar, a baker covered in flour at four in the morning, or a pot simmering on an open fire in the African bush.
We are looking for professional and amateur alike, in our search for the very best depictions of this marvellously varied subject of food, which unites us all.

Who can enter

The competition is open to anyone except:

• Those involved in the organisation of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year
• Family or friends of the Organisers of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year
• Those involved in the marketing and promotion of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year
• Judges or the Sponsors of the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year

Prizes: YOU can win £5,000 and the first ever Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Award Trophy for your outstanding achievement.

In addition to the £5,000 prize as the winner you will get a dedicated press release promoting your winning image to all national media and photographer/food press, so you will see all your hard work and creativity published and credited in all media made available to the organisers both on and off line to millions of readers and viewers.

Your image will be appreciated by some of the leading figures in the photography and food industries, during the judging process.

Category winners will receive a prestigious trophy and voucher for camera equipment.

Winners of the three Young category age-groups will receive £100 each.

Winning entries
Prize-winning images will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London in April 2012.
Winning images may be published in an exhibition catalogue, promotional material and the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year website.

Competition schedule

The competition closes on January 31st 2012. Shortlisted entrants will be notified in February 2012 so that higher quality images can be sent.

The judging of the shortlisted entries will take place in March 2012, and the winners notified in April 2012.

The title of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2012 will be awarded to the single image judged to be the most striking and memorable of all the category winning entries.

The overall winner of the title of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2012 will receive £5000.

Copyright and reproduction

Each entry must: be the original work and also be the complete copyright of the owner and not already be linked with existing rights to a third party.

The copyright in all images submitted to the awards will remain with the entrant who will be credited in accordance with the terms and conditions.

In addition your moral rights are respected. Whenever Your work is published by the Owners you will be credited. Failure to publish a credit due to error or oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition. Where images are used pre judging to promote the awards, images will be kept anonymous until judging is complete whereupon post credits will be given.

By entering the awards, each entrant grants to the Owners a non-exclusive irrevocable licence to reproduce, publish, and communicate to the public by any means and exhibit their image and copies of their image in all media throughout the world in relation to the awards and the exhibition and no other purpose including but not limited to all use in the context of:

• Judging the awards.
• Display in the exhibition.
• Inclusion in any portfolio book and magazine or similar.
• Inclusion within interactive elements associated with the awards and or exhibition (now known or hereafter created) available for viewing or download from the Owners’ website.
• Inclusion in promotional, press and marketing materials associated with the awards and or the exhibition.
• Inclusion in merchandising associated with the awards and or the exhibition.
